英文ツイート、英文記事―112（The English Tweeting and the English Article-112）

滅茶苦茶久々に実験英語発信（The experimental English outgoing）をやってみる。
今回は自分の所業から、会社では追い出し部屋に追い込まれ、家庭も崩壊した加茂が、それでも会社にしがみついていく決意をした時のウシジマのモノローグ
ウシジマのセリフは深いから、英訳していて飽きない。


Ushijima: “Hey, Ezaki, send all members the e-mail for gathering our favorite yakiniku restaurant on 6:00 PM.”
（丑嶋：おう、柄崎。いつもの焼き肉屋に6時集合のメールをメンバー全員に送ってくれ)
Ezaki: “OK, my president.
（柄崎：了解しました、社長）
Mr. Kamo, your speaking is too long. What are you saying?”
（加茂さん、話なげーよ。なんだっけ？）
Kamo: “You're happy because you have good relationships with your friends in your company, aren't you?”
（加茂：会社の社員と仲が良くていいですね）
Ushijima: “Our company is consisting of necessary bare minimum.
（丑嶋：うちは必要最低限で成り立っている）
I can't understand when I'll be arrested, and there are many enemies around me.
（いつパクられるかわからねーし、周りは敵だらけ）
I only can't get any alternative member.
（替えがきかねえだけだ）



I deal with others with thinking I can't believe them. I don't know when they’ll betray me.
（人はわかんねーもんとして扱う。いつ裏切るかわからねえ）
But my friends are important. because I need them to live.”
（それでも仲間が大事。生きてくのに必要だから）
Kamo: “For what are you working even if choosing such strict job?”
（加茂：そんな厳しい仕事選んでなんのために働いているのですか？）
Ushijima:” To eat.”

星新一の小説の英訳バージョンにはまり込む（I'm interested in English translation of Hoshi Shinichi Short Stories）

太宰治しかり、夏目漱石しかりで、日本の小説は英訳されているものも少なくないが、星新一のショートショートは一部しか英訳されていない。
面白いし読みやすいと思うのだけどね。
その中でごくまれに英訳されていた名作が
『宣伝の時代（The Age of Advertising）』
なのであるが。
なかなか正確に訳しているあたりが憎い。
勉強に疲れたときは、最近星新一の英訳バージョンを読むのが日課になってきている。
せっかくだから英訳された本文をまた和訳してみよう。


Advances in science seemed to have made anything possible at this point in time.
（科学の進歩は、この時代に何でも可能にしたように思える）

Needless to say, both received a monthly payment from the respective companies for their services.

英文ツイート、英文記事―111（The English tweeting and the English article-111）

元々実験英語発信（The experimental English outgoing）は
『マンガやアニメのセリフを英訳して書いてみる、模擬英語発信』
というのがあるのだけれども、今回も浅田次郎の『憑神』でやってみる。
日本時代劇だけれども、英訳してみてもなかなか面白いと思うのだが。


The house of Inoue Gunbei, the leader of Kojuuningumi team, is situated in Gobancho, in the middle way to Zenkokujidani, dropping from in the middle way of Koujimachi wide street from Hanzo Gate to Yotsuya Gate.

However, his sweat became gone when he stepped in the town of Gobancho, like haunted became gone.

Gobancho is fulfilled with clean atmosphere, different in other Edo city.
（番町には江戸市中のどことも違う、清冽な気が満ちている）
It's the town of the samurai team called as "Gobangata", such as Oban, Shoinban, Koshougumiban, Shinban and Kojuuningumi team.
（大番、書院番、小姓組番、新番、小十人組――いわゆる五番方と称する武役の住まう街である）
The history of these samurai team which is directly controlled by Shogun was old from Tensho, Keicho and Genna.
（これら将軍直属の武士団の歴史は、それぞれ天正、慶長、元和の古きにさかのぼる）
In other words, they have the pride, "The best Hatamoto in all Hatamoto" despite the amount of roku.
（すなわち彼らには、御禄の多寡にかかわらず旗本中の旗本としての自負があった）
He felt this pride as the wind itself, which is blew in Gobancho, which is surrounded by moat and has many ups and downs.
（その誇り高さが、東西を内外の堀に囲まれた起伏の多い番町という街の、風そのものに感ぜられる）
